Eugenia and Tommy wanted their photos to be fun in a place they have a history, so they choose Kensington Market, Toronto. Choosing locations you are familiar with can make you feel more comfortable while you are being photographed. They were open to our suggestions and we love using your ideas as well.
You can plan which location to use, even particular shots, but don’t be afraid of being spontaneous. The more things you are open to trying, the better your moments will be.
I am using fun images first from Kensington to show how a gritty urban environment can be used in a whimsical way. Afterwards, their reception was at Malaparte, Tiff Bell Lightbox. What a contrast the clean, modern Malaparte is to the market, but it all works together because of Eugenia and Tommy’s personalities.
Yes, it was also international zombie day:) This family of zombies seemed very happy to stop eating brains and pose for a picuture:)
The popcorn at their reception was from Kensington Market from their favourite popcorn store, The Toronto Popcorn Company:)
I’m ending with one of the more romantic shots so you see that in the same, gritty urban environment, you can achieve beautiful, serious shots as well.
The couple chose the Modern and refined looking Malaparte event space in, TIFF Bell LIghtbox for their wedding ceremony and reception. It has great indoor and outdoor areas, a fantastic view of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower. Most of the work we did at TIFF that day was more romantic, so I am showing more images about the venue itself and details because the images above were about having fun:)
This wedding day was shot both by Josh Cornell and Corey Wright. We are Canada’s best shooting team for wedding still photography. We are both first shooters with 20 years experience shooting fashion, music, commercial and wedding photography.
